On March 18, fans who tuned in to Real Housewives of New York were stunned to watch Aviva Drescher accuse Carole Raiziwill, a seasoned journalist and author, of using a ghostwriter for her book What Remains. The confrontation quickly became known as "#Bookgate" across social media platforms.

Drescher, who recently released her book Leggy Blondewas originally looking to pick Radziwill's brain about the process of publishing a book, but things suddenly took a turn for the worse when she brought up her ghostwriter theory.

"The word on the street is that you had What Remains ghostwritten," Drescher said. Insults were thrown, voices were raised, and Radziwill then responded, "You're a liar... I would never make up such vicious and stupid lies about someone's career."

Radziwill, who is highly concerned about this particular scene damaging her reputation, decided to openly discuss her view of what happened with E!

"I wasn't happy to see that on television. But I was very weary of Aviva going into this season and it was not an unpopular feeling among the group," she said.

"...Aviva is on a reality show, she got a book deal and she hired a ghostwriter. It's not that complicated. I do not use a ghostwriter. I never have," she added. "I think it's clear in the show that she has little understanding of publishing and very clear that she has little respect for single, working women."

Fans will have to tune into Real Housewives of New York on Bravo next Tuesday at 9/8c to see how it all plays out.  Apparently, things get physical between the two.
