The Good Wife's producers spoke to TVLine on April 4 about the fate of Alicia's love life and the possibility of an affair with Finn Polmar in season 5.

Kalinda Next in Line to Leave Show After Will?

Enstars had already speculated that something might brew between Alicia and Finn (Matthew Goode) in the coming episodes of the CBS legal drama. Yes, while it's too early to be hooking the very emotionally distraught Alicia up with other prospective lovers, fans can't ignore the connection she feels toward Finn, who was the last person to be with Will during his dying moments.

Michelle and Robert King, executive producers of the show, seemed to give away some hints in the interview.

Alicia and Diane to Merge Their Firms Because of Will's Death in Episode 17?

"He's Alicia's connection to Will's last moments, because he was there [in the courtroom]. He was with Will. And it turns out he was fairly heroic in covering Will. And Finn was hit a few times with gunfire because of that. So Alicia feels a connection there," Robert said.

So will Matthew Goode and replace Josh Charles? Robert did seem to suggest that Goode was, in a way, meant to fill the void.

Michael J. Fox is the "New Will?"

"Josh created a great jolt of male energy in the show. We wanted an equivalent jolt once we knew Josh was leaving. So no matter what way Josh was leaving the show, we knew we needed to get more male energy," he said.

But Robert was cautious of giving away too much and suggesting that it would still be a while.

"We're not going there [yet]," he said. "A lot of what we do is watch the dailies and see what comes out. There is a lot of fun chemistry between Julianna [Margulies] and Matthew [Goode], but we can't [address the potential for romance] until we react a little bit more to what's being shot."
