Though news of an official fifth Indiana Jones movie has not been confirmed by Disney, it appears more fans don't want to see a new film get made.

'Indiana Jones' Franchise 'Should Have Stayed In the 80s?'

An April 10 article on India.com listed the fourth film in the franchise, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which was released in 2008, as the second worst movie sequel ever made, noting that it came out too late to be relevant to the first three films.

"While calling the movie bad would be a bit unfair, the movie is just sad, not in terms of storyline or effects, both of which are acceptable, but rather watching Indiana Jones growing old," the website said in its reasons for the ranking. "...The first and third movies of the Indiana Jones franchise were classics and the second, though not great was still good, the fourth part seems to have come out a bit too late."

Bradley Cooper 'Cracking The Whip' In New 'Indiana Jones' Movie?

The first three films in the franchise-Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade-were released in 1981, 1984 and 1989 respectively. The fourth movie came out 19 years after the third.

A fifth film, if it is made, won't be on Disney's radar anytime soon, as the studio is reportedly focusing on the J.J. Abrams helmed Star Wars: Episode VII, which isn't slated for release until December 2015. With almost an additional decade potentially being placed between the fourth and fifth films, it would be almost 30 years since Last Crusade. If the fourth was considered too late, it doesn't bode well for the fifth either.

Rumors recently broke that if a fifth film was made, it could potentially be a reboot because Harrison Ford may be considered too old to reprise the role. Bradley Cooper was rumored to be taking over the iconic character, but the claims were dismissed.
