The FBI profiler appears to be caught in a web of lies spun by her two closest confidants, and the events of "The Pavlovich Brothers" only served to ensnare her even further.

Thanks to Red (James Spader), Liz (Megan Boone) finally received her chance to interrogate her duplicitous husband during "The Pavlovich Brothers." While she failed to keep Tom (Ryan Eggold) from disappearing again, Liz was left pondering whether or not Tom is truly evil.

How Far Beyond The Law Will Liz Keen Go On 'The Blacklist'? Megan Boone's Character Moves 'Into The Darkness'

"The fact that he's this agent...it's not the end of the line," Eggold explained in an episode of Beyond the Blacklist. "It doesn't mean that he's necessarily bad or that he's one thing, as nobody ever is on this show."

Just as Tom is a multifaceted character, Red has a few hidden motives of his own. Reddington has spent the entire season warning Liz that Tom is not who he appears to be and now the latter has turned around and uttered the same line about the master criminal. What ever Liz discovered in box 3929 seems to be pushing her more towards Tom's side of the argument.

"There are things about Red and his operation and how he fits into the mythology of the show that are very dark," said executive producer Jon Bokenkamp, according to Beyond the Blacklist. I mean, he's a dark character. He's a villain. So you don't get to know yet, you have to wait until next week to find out Liz has seen."

As promised, viewers will find out more about the contents of box 3929 next Monday at 10 p.m. ET when The Blacklist returns with "The Kingmaker." Click the video below to see a preview.
