Looks Like Ragnar and King Horik aren't the only ones beefing on TV. The History Channel's Vikings creator Michael Hirst had some choice words for his competitor show, HBO's extremely popular Game Of Thrones.

Hirst said Game Of Thrones, "is soft porn, and it has a lot of gratuitous stuff in it."

Both shows are set in ancient times past, (with Game of Thrones adding a dash more fantasy, fire-breathing dragons, and sex). But as far Hirst is concerned, ancient times is where the similarities end, reported Time on May 1.

Game Of Thrones Controversy: It Was Rape... And A Little Consensual Sex

"Game of Thrones is a very, very different show," Hirst told Time when asked about the seemingly unfair comparison. "It is a fantasy show, and it has a lot of things which are very appealing to an audience. It is soft porn, and it has a lot of gratuitous stuff in it."

Reportedly, Hirst is not really a fan of fantasy. He sticks to reality-based historical aspects in his show: "I'm not interested in fantasy. I don't like fantasy. For me, fantasy is ultimately meaningless. I don't mean it can't be entertaining. Of course it can be really entertaining, but it doesn't actually mean anything."

Game of Thrones is renowned for not being afraid to show highly imaginative fantasy and sex scenes in all its various gratuitous forms (love couples, brother & sister incest, unimaginable rapes, total nudity). Vikings sticks more to the bloody conquests of newly anointed king Ragnar Lothbrok, leader of the Vikings clan. Vikings just had its season finale in an epic showdown between Earl Ragnar and rival King Horik. Hirst sounded off on that, as previously reported by Enstars.

"It wouldn't be long before [King Horik] set his mind to destroying Ragnar. Because in a sense, everything in the Viking world -- not everything, but a lot of their attention -- was about fame... We know from the sagas that the Vikings valued fame above everything else."

But are the Vikings the only ones who seek fame or does the TV show creator seek a little himself?

"I know that millions of people watch [Game Of Thrones] and it's very popular, and the TV world is big enough to have lots of shows in it, and Game of Thrones is not the only other show that's really, really good. And I have no problem with that." Hirst said.

Ironically, when it comes to gratuitous sex, Hirst had his own saucy Showtime show before: The Tudors. The show featured many occurrences of King Henry dropping his pants. Some might argue that was also soft porn.

Still, Hirst gave Game Of Thrones the ultimate writer-to-writer compliment saying it's "very well written." However, Hirst won't be tuning in Sunday nights because, "I don't watch it because I don't ever want to be accused of being influenced by it."

Game Of Thrones just aired Oatkeeper, in which young Tommen Barratheon (dead KIng Joffrey's brother) is crowned king.
