Pop star Katy Perry is about to take the stage away at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards where she will perform her latest hit Birthday.

According to Billboard.com, this will be the world-premiere TV performance of the song.
Perry is one of the top contenders this year with a total of ten nominations. These include Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top 100 Artist, Top Digital Songs Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Streaming Artist, Top 100 Hit Song (Roar), Top Digital Song (Roar), Top Radio Song (Roar) and Top Streaming Song (Video) (Roar).
For the Top Artist category, she will be competing against a number of big names, including Miley Cyrus, Imagine Dragons, Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake. For the Top Female artist, she will be going against Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Lorde and Rihanna.
Perry has made herself a massive hit lately with her performing days where she dished on the adventure she's had.
"It's been quite a colorful few years with a lot of hard work, a lot of excitement, a lot of purpose and a lot of fun," the pop star told Yorkshire Post. "If it wasn't fun I don't think I would be running this fast still."
Perry also revealed that most of her music comes from within.
"I only really know how to write about what I've gone through," she said. "I think people relate to the vulnerability and honesty I try to bring into the songs, but some aren't that deep- some are just for going out, getting ready and putting make-up on."
