Carrie Underwood recently talked to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame about performing with an incredible collection of women onstage. Is she following after other women in entertainment who have decided to wait to have kids?

"So many incredible inductees," said Underwood, "it's such a cool thing... it's so cool to look around me to look around me and see all of these wonderful, strong women."

With the slew of female performers promoting 'strong' images for girls, from Lady Gaga to Madonna to Kelly Clarkson to Carrie Underwood, are women in the industry these days less willing to put their lives on hold for children?

According to recent research from CNN, it is becoming more and more common for women to give birth in their thirties and forties than it used to be. ABC News has attributed this to the fact that more women do not want to halt their careers to have a baby.

Underwood, who is married to NHL player Mike Fisher, has openly been talking about kids being in her future since 2011. She has two dogs whom she has often referred to as her "children," frequently claiming that she is not ready for kids just yet.

It is rumored that Fisher has been wanting children for a while, but as it would be Underwood who's career would suffer the greatest impact as a result of pregnancy, it is understandable that the superstar might be unwilling to make the leap just yet.
