Usher is attempting to patch things up with his ex-wife Tameka Raymond.

In light of recent events, Usher is suggesting that the estranged couple finalize their child custody battle so that she can focus on her family.

Published reports have said that the singer is sensitive and understanding towards Tameka's situation. He knows that she is suffering, and doesn't think continuing their court battle is a good idea due to the circumstances.

Usher is changing his attitude towards the legal battle, and has allegedly asked his lawyers to draft a new proposal that might be more fitting for his former lover. The new settlement would supposedly give Tameka majority custody of their two kids. However, sources haven't been able to confirm the exact breakdown. He is also expected to increase his child support offer drastically.

Tameka's son was recently left brain dead, after being struck in the head by a jet ski driven by a family friend. The young boy was riding on an inner tube on Lake Lanier in Atlanta, GA, along with another young lady that is also in hospital.

Usher and Tameka have had several conversations over the weekend, one of which included the singer-songwriter suggesting that they settle things. According to TMZ.com, Usher's initial offer was 50/50 custody of their 2 boys, and a minimal increase in child support. Tameka said no way, according to the website.

While no official papers have been crafted, sources say that the mother of 5 is willing to work out a "reasonable settlement" with her former husband.

Usher has been very supportive of Tameka during this hard time. Once he got word of the accident, he immediately dropped everything and flew to the hospital to be by his stepson's hospital bedside.

There isn't any word if the family has made the decision to take the brain-dead 11-year-old off of life support.
