Actor Reeve Carney arrived for Comic Con last night and today he will attend a Q&A panel for the Showtime series Penny Dreadful, which just finished off its first season.

"Hello San Diego!!! :)" tweeted the actor last night and allowing folks to have a little bit of fun with the news. A few minutes later he reposted a tweet from TV After Dark which read "Dorian Gray (@reevecarney) has arrived in San Diego hide your cups of Absinthe in #SDCC!"

The joke of course refers to Dorian's tendency towards indulgence on the supernatural series, including his fondness for the hallucinatory beverage.

Reeve Carney Reveals Favorite Penny Dreadful Set

The actor, who started out as a musician and remains heavily involved in music, recently spent some time in New York attending a few concerts and working on his music. Wednesday, however, Carney took some time to promote his Victorian series when he urged fans on Twitter "not to miss" him at the Penny Dreadful panel on Thursday.

This morning at 10 a.m. series creator John Logan and actor Harry Treadaway (Victor Frankenstein) will be signing autographs at a Comic Con event. Carney will be appearing later today with Logan, Treadaway, and co-star Josh Hartnett for a 6 p.m. in Ballroom 20.

Carney and Hartnett are scheduled to sign autographs at 10 a.m. tomorrow, which means Carney will be spending at least a few days in town. Next month the cast is set to return to Ireland to begin filming the drama's second, longer season.

Penny Dreadful returns to Showtime for a second season in 2015.
