With Hell on Wheels on the verge of returning for its fourth season, the promotional material has increased, with various mysterious trailers and a flittering bit of information about what to expect from AMC's Western tale of westward expansion.

New Hell On Wheels Promo Promises Danger

On Thursday, CarterMatt reported on an interview with show star Anson Mount, about his thoughts regarding his role on Hell on Wheels.

There is not any real new information about specific things to expect for season 4 of the show, but Mount does give some insight on the process of making the show, and getting in tune with the Western as a genre. Mount plays Cullen Bohannon, a former Confederate soldier who finds himself working on the Transcontinental Railroad, and he wants to pay respect to the genre the story takes place in. This includes, evidently, cutting a lot of dialogue. He prefers to keep Bohannon the quiet, stern type, occasionally exchanging large passages of the script for a simple, meaningful look.

A Railroad Accident To Occur In Hell On Wheels Premiere

So what sort of events are going to be drawing such looks from Mount during this season? Again, the information is scarce, but previous reports indicate a variety of interests will be fighting for control of Cheyenne, Wyoming, which is evidently the most important railroad hub in 1867. Additionally, there will be the fallout of a railroad accident in the season premiere. As Mount said in the interview, this show is in many ways a throwback Western, so if nothing else fans of that genre will have something to enjoy in all likelihood. Hell on Wheels returns Saturday, August 2 on AMC.
