Hell on Wheels, the throwback Western entering its fourth season on AMC, has provided a new promo to try and entice their fans.

A Railroad Accident To Be Dealt With On Season Premiere Of Hell On Wheels

On Tuesday, Carter Matt reported on a teaser video for the upcoming season, a trailer that manages to both encapsulate the show and yet tell you more or less nothing of plot substance.

That is not necessarily a bad thing, though. The promo is intricately crafted, and certainly gives the vibe of what Hell on Wheels at least strives to be. With booming narration over it, there is animation of railroad tracks being laid down, and of towns being built alongside it. There are also men riding fervently on horses, including some Native Americans. Additionally, the video provides a brief glimpse of main character Cullen Bohannon, as played by Anson Mount, riding a horse, lifting a rifle, and shooting it.

Big Changes Promised For Hell On Wheels

You wouldn't know where the show is headed from seeing this video, but it is evocative. It seems like the show is headed in the same direction, however. The railroad continues to expand, and in the process enemies are made. The voiceover does mention that where they lay their tracks, mighty cities will rise, so perhaps that is a clue as to what might happen this year.

Hell on Wheels premieres its fourth season on AMC on Saturday, August 2. While the show has managed to trudge on by airing on an unusual night for original programming, it still feels like the show may not have much time left. At least the teaser for this season promises intrigue, but now the show must deliver.
