Amid the buzz of Disney's massive hit Frozen being depicted in the upcoming fourth season of ABC's Once Upon a Time, it has been revealed that the voice actors in the movie were not approached for the series.

Once Upon a Time co-creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz recently spoke with E! News about Frozen and why they chose not to approach Kristen Bell (who voices Anna in the film) and Idina Menzel (who voices Elsa).

"Those actors were so amazing," Horowitz noted, "but it's their own thing. They should have their thing and what we're doing is separate from the movie. We're not trying to do a sequel to Frozen. We're trying to do our Once Upon a Time version of it and create our own little world and hope that fans of Frozen and fans of Once can enjoy it."

Kitsis did add, however, that they are fans of both Bell and Menzel.

Instead of Bell, Menzel and other voice actors from Frozen, the producers of OUAT decided to go with mostly newer actors. Elsa will be played by Georgina Haig (Fringe) while Anna will be played by newcomer Elizabeth Lail and Kristoff will be played by Scott Michael Foster (Greek).

Hans will be played by Tyler Jacob Moore (Shameless) while the role of Pabbie the rock troll will be voiced by John Rhys-Davies (The Lord of the Rings trilogy).

Once Upon a Time Season 4 is set to premiere Sunday, Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
