In an interview Wednesday with Indiewire, Griffith confirmed that she hasn't seen the film yet and probably wont end up seeing it. "[Dakota] was like, 'You guys cannot come. There's no way.' So we're not going," she said. Although Griffith did admit she visited her daughter on the set.

"I did go visit for a couple of days when they were shooting just normal stuff," the actress said. "I did see the Room of Pain - I did go in there and check it out."

Although Griffith can't see Fifty Shades of Grey, that doesn't mean she won't visit Johnson on her other films. "On the eighth, I'm going to see my daughter filming another movie on Pantelleria [in Sicily]. She just did a movie with Johnny Depp [Black Mass]." Asked about Johnson's acting talent, Griffith said the Fifty Shades star is "amazing" and "so good. It's just so beautiful to see her doing this.

"She had her mom and her dad and her grandmother and she's just taken us all and thrown us away," Griffith said about Johnson. "She's like, 'Here I am.'"

Fifty Shades of Grey is opening on Valentine's Day 2015 and Griffith is currently starring in a short film called Thirst. She also revealed her next film will be with actor Bob Saget.
