New photos have been released of Downton Abbey Season 5 that give some insight on the drama that's about to take place.

Lady Mary Will Be More 'Complex?'

On Sunday, Daily Mail posted the images, some of the young children who will make an appearance. One picture shows Tom Branson with his daughter, Sybbie as they both look towards the camera in their proper attire. Tom has his fancy suit on while his little girl wears a maroon and gold dress.

Another picture shows young George standing with someone who might be his nanny. The site mentioned how the kids are too young to grieve the deaths of their parents, but it doesn't mean it won't happen at all. This ought to create a lot of pressure on Tom who's grieving while taking care of his daughter.

Lady Edith Will Be Going Through A 'Horrible Time?'

Lady Edith appears in a photo where she looks like she's surprisingly having fun. She's sitting on Tom as they look like they're wrestling, which shows that these two may not be in a black hole that much after all.

Laura Carmichael (Edith) revealed to Hit Fix that her life is going to be in a pretty big rut ever since her child came along.

"It's a tricky place. She's on knife-edge," the actress explained. "And the thing that I think makes this situation even worse, which sounds not-too-exciting is that nobody really knows. Even though she's having a horrible time and Gregson's disappeared and her child is separated from her, in the country but not living with her, the family have no idea."

Downton Abbey Season 5 is expected to premiere on Sunday, January 4 in the United States on PBS.
