With the first part of the ending of the Hunger Games franchise approaching, the stars have begun to open up on what the ending of the franchise means to them with filming wrapped up. It seems like, with the passing away of star Philip Seymour Hoffman, the end was melancholy for the cast and crew.

Speaking at a press conference after the Teen Choice Awards, star Josh Hutcherson talked about what the last few days of filming were like. Hutcherson plays Peeta in Mockingjay: Part 1.

"We had like a wrap party the night we finished and that was great to let it lose on the last time together after all the filming," Hutcherson said. "I don't want to be melancholy, but it was kind of a sad ending to it all. We weren't ready for it to be finished yet."

As for remembering Philip Seymour Hoffman, Hutcherson was honored to be able to work with the actor on the films.

"I think I'll remember (Seymour Hoffman) for being a guy that always lost himself in every character," Hutcherson said. "There are very few actors in history that become every character and that was him."

Hutcherson was one of the staple actors in the franchise and saying goodbye was tough for an actor who earned his stardom through the role. It will be interesting to see Hutcherson take on Peeta in Mockingjay, where he will begin in the hands of President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and away from Katniss and the rebellion.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 opens in theaters on November 21.
