While Teresea Giudice is hit with accusations that she lied about giving her oldest daughter Gia a family heirloom on Bravo's The Real Housewives of New Jersey, she took to her blog and explained the history behind the diamond ring -- all while awaiting her fraud sentence.

She wrote Monday, "Gia's gift was a pave ring that my mother gave me when I was a teenager. I've been saving it for her. It's too big for her to wear now, but she's mature enough to understand how much it means. I don't think there's any better present than something passed down from your mama, no matter what it is."

Still, an insider told RadarOnline Tuesday that the ring did not come from her family at all but rather a jeweler who Teresa made an agreement with. They said that she showed the ring for millions to see to help the jeweler get more publicity. They even added that Teresa has the diamond now, not Gia.

They said, "The diamond ring had been given to Teresa about a year ago by a jeweler in New Jersey. Teresa wanted to give Gia the ring on camera to give publicity to the jeweler. Teresa's mother never had the ring for any extended period of time."

Teresa and her husband Joe Giudice are set to be sentenced in September after they pleaded guilty to serious fraud charges earlier this year.

In her blog, Teresa also laughed at Gia's decision to tell her father she kissed a boy before. She opened up about Gia's talk with Joe and gushed about their relationship.

"It's important for girls to have a strong father figure in their lives. Gia is a daddy's girl just like I was, and still am!... Any boy that wants to date any of our daughters better realize they have to go through me and Joe first!"
