Meanwhile, there's been speculation that the singer has focused 1989, on a style of music other than country.

The two-time winner of the Country Music Association Pinnacle Award seemed to be breaking away from her country roots. The Pinnacle Award gives recognition for country artists who have achieved national and international recognition within the respective genre. Her biggest hits have always felt more poppy, and that is the direction the singer seems to be taking with Shake It Off.
Billboard has reported that there is not even a single acoustic guitar heard on her new album, 1989. Radio programmers have stated that they will not be playing Shake It Off on country stations.
