With the introduction of Wonder Woman in Batman v. Superman, it could open the world for the hero to take on her own foes in a standalone movie, but when will that happen?

Some 'Justice League' Scenes Could Be Film During 'Batman v Superman' To Make For Quick Turnaround

As of now, Warner Bros. has set a number of dates in the coming years for new properties with the possibility of a standalone Wonder Woman movie on the horizon. But who could the hero face?

A logical choice could be one of the more recognizable villains, Silver Swan, fighting Wonder Woman with behind-the-scenes villain Ares, setting the stage for bigger battles ahead.

"The Rock" Still Deciding Between Which DC Character To Play, Could Show Up In 'Justice League'

In the comics, Silver Swan is known as Helen Alexandros, a bitter ballet dancer who, disgusted by being overlooked and cruelly treated because of her homely appearance, struck a bargain with Mars to have a beautiful face and body in return for destroying man's champion, Wonder Woman. Helen becomes the mystically-created alter ego Silver Swan in the Pre-Crisis.

Silver Swan also has incarnations under the names Valerie Beaudry and Vanessa Kapatelis.

Ares, in the modern comics, is best represented as a behind-the-scenes villain, one who uses his minions like the Duke of Deception, Silver Swan, Deimos, Phobos, the Crimson Centipede, etc. for his bidding. His power level, possibly higher or possibly lower than Circe's, is vague, but one thing is certain: Wonder Woman usually has to talk her way out of a confrontation with Ares.

Having Silver Swan introduced as her main fighting villain with Ares sitting in the background plotting future plans would make for a franchise for the heroine. It would also allow Wonder Woman to fight some of her most famous villains on screen.

Justice League is set to open in theaters in 2017.
