With the success of Divergent and the upcoming Insurgent, it could warrant more than just the final two planned movies. But with a spinoff being a possibility, could one of the stars ditch the franchise?

'Insurgent' Stars Talk Different Tone & Giant Train Action Scene In The Sequel

Lionsgate CEO John Feltheimer recently teased the possibility of a Divergent series spinoff coming following the release of the second part of the finale. The spinoff, which focuses on the story fo Four (Theo James) before the events of the first book, will be the focus of the movie.

But will James return without Woodley? It seems like if he decides to come on board for the spinoff that he would be without Woodley, who is starting to do a lot of outside work besides the franchise.

James also is not showing up in much outside of the Divergent series and could use a solo franchise to boost his star and possibly lead to roles in other properties outside of this young adult series. Woodley has moved back into the indie scene with roles in White Bird in a Blizzard, The Fault in Our Stars, and The Spectacular Now.

The plot of the first book in the spinoff finds 16-year-old Tobias Eaton who was born in Abnegation. His father, Marcus Eaton, is an Abnegation council member, who is abusive to him. Tobias meets Tori, who administers his aptitude test.

He chooses Dauntless as his faction at his choosing ceremony against his father's wishes. Later, he meets Eric, a fellow dauntless initiate, along with his instructor Amar. The latter gives him the name Four, after finding out that he has only four fears.

Insurgent is set to open in theaters on March 20, 2015.
