The Amazing Race appears to be all about doing things differently and keeping things fresh, and host Phil Keoghan firmly believes that is what has been the key to the show's success-which has allowed it to prepare for a season 25 premiere this fall-and won it 10 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Reality Competition Series.

'The Amazing Race' Wins 10th Outstanding Reality Competition Series Emmy

In a Reality Hosts Roundtable discussion featuring himself, Hollywood Game Night's Jane Lynch, Topchef's Padma Lakshmi and Drag Race's Rupaul, Keoghan talked to his co-panelists and host Scott Collins about the landscape of reality TV, and explained the different ways that Amazing Race has not only impacted the reality TV landscape, but how it remains interesting to viewers after so many years.

"We are blessed because we are able to show real diversity on our show," he said. "...We have tall, short, black, white, republicans, democrats, fit, unfit...the whole thing. I really feel that over the years we have had the most diverse cast ever. That's America, and that to me is what makes this show work. Because we get to put a very diverse group of people together in an extraordinary situation...and when you put these people in an extraordinary situation, you get extraordinary moments."

Keoghan also revealed what he considers to be the show's secret ingredient that allows it to remain fresh and still entertaining after so many seasons.

"We do have a secret ingredient in the sense that we have the world to choose from, so we've been to India for instance 10 times. We can go to India 100 times and we still won't use up all the opportunities that India has to offer," he said. "So you will never see the same background on our show. Everytime you look at our show, what's behind the contestants, where they are, is always different. We have the luxury even 24 seasons in to have new faces in front of new places. And that helps to keep our show fresh."

While he did talk about the show's secret for success, Keoghan didn't reveal any hints about the upcoming season and what fans could expect from it.

Amazing Race Season 25 premieres Friday, September 26 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
