On August 28, Frasier star Hyde Pierce is set to join season 6 of The Good Wife.

Alicia's Love Life To Take A Hit In Season 6 Of The Good Wife 

The Hollywood Reporter announced that the actor will have a recurring part in the CBS series. According to the report, Pierce will play the role of a celebrated cable news legal commentator who runs for office in Chicago, because of the high rates of corruption and murder.

The executive producers Robert and Michelle King spoke about getting that actor on boars.

"We couldn't be more thrilled and flattered that David's making The Good Wife his first TV role sinceFrasier," they stated. "We're tremendous fans of his dramatic skills as well as his comedy."

On August 25, Marguilies, who plays Alicia Florrick on the show, won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for playing Alicia Florrick in The Good Wife.

Here's the official synopsis for season 6:

"Picking up exactly where season five ended, Alicia is adamant in her refusal to run for State's Attorney. Between an internal crisis for Cary at Florrick/Agos and Diane possibly joining her firm, Alicia has way too much to juggle without the additional stress of politics."

The finale for season 5, titled A Weird Year, aired on May 18.

Season 6 of The Good Wife will air on Sunday, September 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
