With Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique set to return in the next X-Men movie, what could the shape shifter have in store with the villain Apocalypse coming to face the mutant team? Could she introduce a new set of side characters, including her own son?

Could An X-Force Movie Follow 'X-Men: Apocalypse?'

In the comics, Mystique was sent by Magneto to safely deliver Rogue from America to the X-Men base in Wundagore Mountain. Despite spending such a short amount of time with the young lady, Mystique had actually become emotionally attached to Rogue. When the time came for them to go their separate ways, Mystique ran out of the room crying unable to say her goodbye. She returned to her duty to ferry refugees safely to Avalon to escape the plight of Apocalypse's reign in America.

After, she meets up with her son, Nightcrawler, who teams up with his mother as she continues to work for Magneto.

Mystique later meets up with mutants, including Destiny, Shadow King, Damask, Switchback, and Avalon who show up during her quest in smaller roles.

Nightcrawler is a name that has already surfaced in terms of movie rumors, as director Bryan Singer, who introduced the character in film during X2, has hinted at bringing back the mutant in a younger version for this flick.

X-Men: Apocalypse is set to open in theaters on May 27, 2016. Please be sure to check back with Enstars, for all of the latest film chatter.
