Chris Brown DC Case Update 2014; 'New Flame' Singer Pled Guilty in District Court Room, Fined $150.00 [PHOTO]

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Grammy-winning R&B singer Chris Brown pleaded guilty in a Washington court on Tuesday to a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from a scuffle with a fan last year.

The "Turn Up the Music" singer was sentenced in District of Columbia Superior Court to time served in jail, or two days, and was ordered to pay $150 in court costs. Brown had rejected a similar plea accord in June.

The fan, Parker Adams, had said that Brown and his bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, punched him and broke his nose when he tried to jump into a fan photo outside a Washington hotel in October 2013. Hollosy has been convicted on an assault charge.

Brown made his mark in the music world as a teenager and, despite several brushes with the law, has been able to bounce back professionally.

He was released in June from a Los Angeles jail after serving a one-year sentence for violating probation following his 2009 assault of pop singer Rihanna.
