The Agents of SHIELD will go to ground in season 2, and their new Men In Black vibe will help keep them well off the radar.

'Agents Of SHIELD' Coulson Keeping Secrets From His Team, Abandon Loyalties

SHIELD's newly appointed Director Coulson (Clark Gregg) will start to rebuild the shattered agency this fall, and despite their necessarily, the agents will be unwelcome around the world.

"The enemy has the advantage," Coulson says in the season's first promo (see video below). "We have to fight on for those we lost, so the sacrifices they made were not made in vain. And then, we'll disappear - become ghosts. That's how we have to live now: In the shadows. To protect the innocent, to save lives. Even when they don't know it."

The team's new tactics will be clear right from the start. After a brief time jump, Coulson and his crew will be back in action.

"We come in in a surprising way," said executive producer Jeff Bell, according to TV Line. "Coulson was always interested in getting back to the roots of S.H.I.E.L.D., to the kind of organization it used to be - you know, this small, covert, Men In Black kind of thing. And I think you get a feel for that when we come into the second season."
