The Amazing Race is about to embark on a landmark season, and to help celebrate the exciting milestones the show has reached, things will be different from the previous 24 seasons.

Phil Keoghan Talks 'Diversity' On 'The Amazing Race' & What Fans Will Never See Twice

In an appearance on Entertainment Tonight, host Phil Keoghan talked about the show's upcoming 25th season, and revealed a little bit about the newest prize teams could win if they are the first to cross the finish line after the first leg.

Previously, teams could win prizes including the chance to win an extra $1 million if they won both that first leg and the race overall, and winning two Express passes-which not only gave them the chance to skip a difficult task along the route, but also allowed them to form an alliance with another team by giving them the second one. Now, the team that is first to hit the mat after leg one will be presented with a Save-which can allow them to prevent their own elimination if they came in last on another leg.

Bethany Hamilton and Adam Dirks Hope Alliances Will Help Them On 'The Amazing Race'

"If you do really well on The Amazing Race, you could win the most powerful Amazing Race prize ever," Keoghan said. "Essentially, you can save yourself from elimination."

While appearing on the show, Keoghan also talked about one of the most buzz-worthy contestants in the upcoming season-Pro Surfer Bethany Hamilton, who is doing the race following a shark attack in 2003 which caused her to lose her left arm.

"She's come back and inspired so many young women," he said. "Now she even says that this was meant to happen to her just because it's been such a life-changing event and being able to inspire so many people."

The Amazing Race season 25 premieres Friday, September 26 at 8 p.m.
