Jax (Charlie Hunnam) is ready for revenge on the upcoming final season of FX's Sons of Anarchy, and the motorcycle drama is about to have one of its most violent seasons to date.

Lea Michele Is 'Great' As 'Frumpy Waitress' on Sons of Anarchy

Sons of Anarchy showrunner Kurt Sutter recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the final season and previewed Jax's journey to avenge the death of Tara (Maggie Siff)

"It's about ten days later and we find [Jax] in jail in county and we realize the reason he's there is because he hasn't said anything [about Tara's death]" Sutter revealed. "Obviously emotionally he's a little bit shut down and numb, but very driven by a singular purpose this season which is as avenging the woman that he loves."

Sons of Anarchy's Juice Has 'A Revelation About Himself' In Final Season

The news site said that they had seen the final season premiere episode and it seems that Jax will be going to extreme measures in his quest for revenge.

"It's probably one of his most proactive seasons because he's not reacting to the things collapsing around him, he's creating the things that are collapsing around him," Sutter added.

Sutter also noted that this will be one of the more "violent seasons" in the show's history, which is saying something considering how brutal the series can be.

Jax does not seem to have any knowledge that his own mother Gemma (Katey Sagal) was the one who murdered Tara in the Season 6 finale. Only Gemma and Juice (Theo Rossi) know about what happened that day and if Jax discovers the truth, who knows what he might do.

Sons of Anarchy Season 7 is set to debut Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
