Ray Rice's wife took to her Instagram to address Monday's video leak, which showed the football player knocking her out with a punch.

"I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closest friend," Janay Palmer wrote on Tuesday, according to The Baltimore Sun.

"But to have to accept the fact that it's reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret everyday is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his [butt] off for all his life just to gain ratings is a horrific.

TMZ published the graphic clip from February showing the athlete in an elevator at Atlantic City's Revel Hotel and Casino with Palmer, who was his fiancée at the time. The two appeared to be arguing before Rice, 27, punched her. Palmer fell unconscious and Rice dragged her body out when the elevator opened. The couple wed a month later.

The NFL, who denied having prior knowledge of the latest footage, suspended Rice from the league indefinitely.
