The new show runner for ABC's Castle is assuring fans that the fiery car wreck Castle (Nathan Fillion) got into in the Season 6 finale won't entirely be the focus when the series returns for Season 7.

Rick & Beckett Will 'Blossom And Grow' Amid 'Disappointment' Over Failed Wedding on Castle

David Amann, the show runner for Castle, spoke with TVGuide.com recently about how the cliffhanger will run into the seventh season.

"After the second episode, the audience will have some but not all of the answers about what exactly is going on," he said, discussing the reasons behind the car crash.

However, the mystery behind it will eventually creep back up as the season moves along.

"It's a sufficient amount [of resolution] that the characters can move and get back to life as they knew it, but the effects of what happened to Castle will re-emerge and re-assert themselves later in the season."

As for the question of whether or not fans will finally get to see a Castle-Beckett (Stana Katic) wedding, Amann was predictably tight-lipped.

"I think that is very possible," he teased.

Fans weren't exactly thrilled with the Season 6 finale, in which Beckett and Castle were finally ready to get married before tragedy struck. Beckett got the call about Castle when she was in her wedding dress. It remains to be seen how the series will get back to its procedural format after such a potentially life-altering event.

Castle Season 7 is scheduled to debut on Monday, Sept. 29 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
