As the premiere of season 6 of The Good Wife is almost here, the title for the first episode of the next chapter was revealed.

The episode will be titled The Line, and has leaves a lot open to interpretation, but most likely it would have to do with the common idiom, crossing the line. It could apply to a few characters on the show, for instance Alicia (Julianna Margulies) was proposed to run for State's Attorney by Eli Gould (Alan Cumming) in the finale of season 5, and though most reports suggest that she will resist doing so, that's what "the line" might imply for Alicia. For Diane (Christine Baranski) it could mean, the big change of moving to Florrick/Agos.

The recently revealed promo for the show picks up from the points the finale of season 5 left off. The cliffhanger obviously had to do with the big decision Alicia will have to take now.

The other major turning point was Diane's decision to leave Lochart/Gardner and join Florrick/Agos. In the promo, Diane is seen telling Alicia that if she joined forces with Florrick/Agos, the firm could become the biggest firm in the country. She adds that she would be bringing 38 million to the firm if she were to come on board.

Diane will be worth a lot to Florrick/Agos as she will not only being more clout, new clients and a weighty partner, Dean Levin-Wilkins (Taye Diggs) but a much coveted asset with Kalinda (Archia Panjabi). The creators have suggested that it is likely that she will make good on that move and Kalinda will go with her, despite her reigning tensions with Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry).

As for Alicia running for State's Attorney, she is seen telling Eli that she would never run for the position. But there is a pause for consideration as he responds by telling her that she could actually win.

Here's the official synopsis for the episode:

"Alicia is adamant in her refusal to run for State's Attorney despite Eli's attempts to persuade her to launch a campaign. Meanwhile, as Diane considers joining Florrick/Agos as partner, an internal crisis threatens to destroy the firm."

The finale for season 5, titled A Weird Year, aired on May 18.

Season 6 of The Good Wife will air on Sunday, September 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
