She reportedly comes from one of the strictest Amish communities in the U.S. but 22-year-old Barbie from Munfordville, Ky. Says she won't allow her strict upbringing stop her from seeing what the world has to offer before she decides to commit to the church.

Bates Feels 'Restricted' In His Amish Community?

"My dad's a preacher, and being a preacher's daughter, it's a lot of pressure," she says in a preview clip for the show. "Because I know that everybody's watching me. I can't be myself, I've got to be what they want me to be."

Making things more difficult for Barbie, her family comes from one of the strictest Amish communities in the U.S.-a place they chose to move to in an effort to avoid some of the more English-infiltrated and progressive groups of the religion and society-as well as the influence of the English themselves.

Matthias Says The Amish Are 'Two-Faced'

"My family moved to Munfordville because it's one of the strictest Amish communities in the country," she said. "They tell me what to eat, they tell me what to wear, they tell me what to do, they tell me what questions not to ask, they tell me what I need to ask. It's just so controlling."

And while she has previously been okay with some of the control levied onto her life, Barbie is now sick of the rules, especially when it comes to her heart and romance.

"We're not allowed to date until we join the church, because we're supposed to commit our love to God before anyone else," she explained. "I'm 22, and I'm just not ready to join the church. I don't think they should be allowed to tell me when I should date or when I can date. I should be able to make those choices on my own and follow my own heart."

Breaking Amish season 3 premieres Thursday, September 18 at 10 p.m. on TLC.
