The newest Breaking Amish cast is officially about to head to New York, after the season premiere saw them all struggling to leave their families and homes behind.

Despite the struggles that they will undoubtedly face if they choose to leave their communities, the newest stars of the show-Barbie, Bates, Miriam, Matthias and Vonda-will set out for Brooklyn on the Thursday, September 25 episode.

In the season premiere, fans of the series initially met the new Amish adults looking to leave their communities, and learned a bit more about the things that have prevented them from leaving before.

Barbie Following Her 'Own Heart'

The one who is having the most difficult time leaving appears to be Barbie, a 22-year-old from Kentucky who lives in one of the strictest communities in the U.S.-and is doing the show without the approval of her parents, who lat out told her she is going without their blessing.

Adding to her struggles, Barbie is also torn between staying in the community and being with her family, and marrying her ex-Amish boyfriend, Lester, who has proposed.

"I have to choose between him and my family," she said during the episode. "I can't live without either one of them."

Both Bates and Matthias, the men of the season, are in similar situations, as Bates is also leaving behind an Ex-Amish girlfriend-while Matthias is leaving behind a pregnant wife. Matthias however, is willing to leave his wife behind because she has cheated on him.

"Just recently, I found out that Courtney cheated on me with one of my friends," he said. "They didn't have sex, but they fooled around. I was really hurt, but we're trying to work through it."

In addition to Miriam and Vonda, the three are now headed to Brooklyn-and will find their relationships challenged greatly once they arrive.

Breaking Amish airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on TLC.
