Fans of Breaking Amish were heartbroken when Chapel Peace Schmucker revealed her cancer had returned when the show aired earlier this summer, and it appears her struggles with the disease have led her to make some tough decisions about her future.

'Return To Amish' Being Renewed?

After initially trying to raise money with the support of her fans through a go fund me page to do an alternative therapy to treat her cancer called Gerson's Therapy, the reality star has since ended her attempt to go for the alternative treatment, opting from traditional chemotherapy after not reaching her funding goal.

Her decision to back out of the alternative therapy met criticism from fans who believed she tried to scam them out of their money-accusing her of faking her illness to make extra cash-leaving her to update her Facebook page with a message about why she changed her mind.

Chapel Seeking Funding From Fans For Alternative Cancer Treatment

"Okay, listen you want my story here it is...I did not raise nearly enough to start the Gerson therapy...so I needed to do something I took the cash and put down payment to start chemotherapy," she wrote on the Facebook page she shares with her husband, fellow Breaking Amish star Andrew Schmucker, Sept. 19. "I did not fraud anyone, I just couldn't do what I wanted, it took everything you all gave plus all my saving to start chemo..I was behind on my rent got evicted sleeping on friends couch while living from my car..Today my mom shut my phont off cause I dnt have for my bill.."

"I dnt come on this site or any other begging ppl to help me...So say what u want or take thus as you plz I'm just so done with ppl talking shit...Im a really honest person with a huge heat but this heart of one can't much more...Chapel," she added.

According to the Go Fund Me page, Peace Schmucker managed to raise a total of $3,990 of her $5,000 goal to pay for the alternative treatment, which was explained in a biography section of the page as something she wanted because chemotherapy had nearly killed her the first time she fought her cancer.

"The Gerson Project offers an all-natural cure to fight cancer..This is something Chapel feels so strongly about...Medical coverage does not cover this treatment," the page reads. "Its much safer than chemo...Last time around Chemo almost ended her life on three occasions can't blame a girl wanting to find another way.."

And though she is once again facing critics who claim she is fooling her fans, her fellow cast members have spoken out to defend her in the past, most noticeably, Sabrina High, who blasted Chapel's critics back in June for saying she was faking being sick.

"This is for all who watch the show...apparently people are saying that since the show is 'fake' they are daring to voice their concerns that my friend Chapel is just pretending to have stage 4 cancer. If you think that that is a legit concern, you need your head examined," she wrote at the time. "You are a POS for even thinking that. How would you feel if you or someone you love had cancer and people were saying 'oh you're just pretending to have cancer' wtf is wrong with people??! Makes me sick."

"If you wanna judge somebody with cancer then I honestly hope someday you get to experience it for yourself firsthand and then maybe you'll realize what a complete jerk you were," she added. "Chapel is a beautiful, strong, intelligent soul, and she is a ray of sunshine wherever she goes. She needs all the support she can get right now. She doesn't deserve to be hated on like this no wonder the world is the way it is these days what with people being so f***ing ignorant all the time. "

A new season of Breaking Amish, featuring a new cast in Brooklyn is currently airing Thursdays at 10 p.m. on TLC. It is unclear if the Return to Amish cast will return for new episodes of their own.
