Blake Shelton's new album Bringing Back the Sunshine was released on Tuesday and even though it's his latest work, the country singer likes to consider the record a "throwback" to some of his earliest material.

In an interview with Cody Alan for CMT (featured below), Shelton opened up a little about looking back to old albums, looking for a "neon light" and what married life with Miranda Lambert has taught him about happiness.

While Shelton may be pleased with the idea of his latest album being a "throwback" to his early days, he admitted that he couldn't recall the names of a few of those first albums.

"Did I mention that I hate naming albums?" said the singer. "I think it's a terrible thing… you make the record and you dump your life into this thing and then like two days before it's time they're like 'oh yeah, we need an album title' and you're like 'album title? No'. So I am never good at that stuff."

It seems the naming of songs comes somewhat more easily to the singer, who released the single Neon Light earlier this month. Alan noted that it looks in the video like alcohol is that light at the end of the tunnel for Shelton.

"Is there any other light at the end of a tunnel?" joked Shelton, who went on to explain that for him a bar is something of great comfort. "You gotta have faith that there will be a neon light at the end of the tunnel," he insisted of all things, whether it be after breakup or after you've stubbed your toe.

Neon Light was in fact the first single off Shelton's new album, but a number of the songs are about women. Alan asked what being married to fellow country artist Miranda Lambert has taught him about women, and Shelton gave a long and good-natured laugh before saying that it's "awesome."

"I've learned that being patient truly pays off," he replied. "Being patient…[is] like the long run…you finally get into that grove like she's happen and I'm happy and it works out."

Bringing Back the Sunshine is now available for purchase in stores and online.
