The cast and crew of Longmire, which was canceled by A&E after three seasons, have urged fans to be patient as the series looks for a new network. On Saturday, however, viewers found out why the cast has been so calm over the last two months.

Lou Diamond Phillips Hints At 'Longmire' Salvation

The longer the popular crime drama goes without a network, the more nervous fans become. Actor Adam Bartley, known for playing The Ferg on the program, announced on Twitter Saturday that those fearing that the show will just fade away have nothing to worry about.

The stars of the axed show are still pursuing other limited-run television and movie roles, but as for any of them finding a new series to star in, it won't happen just yet. They are still contracted to Longmire for the next four months, meaning that producers have this time to find the series a new home. Bartley hasn't been the only one to declare that the process of bringing Longmire back for a fourth season won't be a fast one. On Sept. 18 Lou Diamond Phillips (Henry) posted a similar message, and on Oct. 2 Robert Taylor (Sheriff Walt) shared a video on YouTube preaching the same (featured below).

If Longmire does return for a fourth season on a new network, it will likely do so during the second half of 2015 or even the beginning of 2016.
