Sofia Vergara's son received more than he asked for when he filmed her 40th birthday celebration with family and friends in Mexico.

Manolo Gonzalez recorded her rumored marriage proposal.

The 19-year-old was unaware that Vergara's boyfriend Nick Loeb planned to propose to the "Modern Family" star when he was documenting her birthday trip for his YouTube video series.

Loeb, 36 proposed at the top of a pyramid at the Chichen Itza ruins in Yucatan, Mexico.

"Once they were to the top of the pyramid, my mother's longtime boyfriend, Nick, proposed to her," Gonzalez explains on video.

"Let me see the ring," Gonzalez says to Vergara when the couple returned.

Vergara shows off the ring and smiles.

The video show is called "Mi Vida Con Toty" which means "My Life With Toty" in English. "Toty" is Vergara's family nickname.

Gonzalez recorded the Pepsi model celebrating her birthday with 107 friends and family members.

He revealed that Vergara's climb to the top of the ruins was a dream of hers and required special arrangements for her to do so.

"...her team worked for months on end to get her special permission to go up!"

Vergara is seen in the video dancing with the large crowd and flashing the ring to the camera at a party.

According to PEOPLE, Loeb's gift to the Columbian actress "was just an over-the-top birthday gift."

"It was a gift from Nick. It's a beautiful gift and a special ring but never meant to be anything more than that," a source told PEOPLE exclusively.

Vergara nor her publicist have yet to confirm if she is engaged.
