Marvel is set to shake things up and this began with the resounding news that Robert Downey Jr. would be reprising his role as Iron Man/Tony Stark and be appearing in the next Captain America movie. But does that have any affect on Spider-Man?

What Questions Need To Be Answered In 'The Amazing Spider-Man 3?'

Variety broke the news early this week that Iron Man would be clashing with Captain America as the two begin the Civil War plot that will have the two characters fighting over the right to reveal superhero identities. Stark believes it should happen while Cap is a lot more hesitant to just reveal the personal lives of other heroes.

Spider-Man News noted on Tuesday that the ramifications of that could mean for the possible involvement of Spider-Man in the third Captain America movie and how the hero works his way into the Civil War plot.

Spider-Man To Cameo At The End Of 'Captain America 3' To Join The MCU?

In the comics, Peter Parker plays an integral role in Civil War. At first siding with Iron Man, he reveals his secret identity to the world and later defects to Captain America's side after realizing what a mistake he's made.

This could benefit both Sony and Marvel as it would allow the studios to go in a different direction with the character. For Marvel, it would give them one of the biggest moments from the comic book to show on screen while Sony would have the world completely opened up to them for different story possibilities.

Captain America 3 is set to open in theaters on May 6, 2016 with the next Spider-Man movie predicted to be in 2018.
