Petulant man-boy Dandy Mott (Finn Wittrock) found a new passion on Wednesday night's episode of FX's American Horror Story: Freak Show and he may be taking after his new mentor.

Dandy's mother Gloria (Frances Conroy) picked up Twisty the Clown (John Carroll Lynch) on the side of the road in Episode 2 of the season, giving him something to entertain himself. As shown in the episode, he was not repulsed by Twisty's evil ways - on the contrary, he was delighted by them.

As Wittrock revealed in a new interview with TVLine, Dandy will try to take after Dandy in the weeks to come.

"He becomes very enamored by the clown and becomes his acolyte," Wittrock said. "The clown basically becomes his role model for life. He wants to be him. And he might succeed to a degree."

Dandy helped Twisty wrangle his collection of kidnapped kids in the episode, and this probably won't be the last time he tries to help his new friend.

As the episodes go on, some info about his past will be revealed, including some possible incest, according to Wittrock.

"We talked about a kid who's incredibly wealthy but emotionally stunted at a certain age, and we'll learn that there was some trauma in his youth - and also that there might be a bit of incest happening," he revealed. "We'll also learn that maybe, more broadly to say, psychosis runs in the family."

Fans will also get to learn more about Twisty and his backstory. While he won't exactly be absolved of his heinous crimes, the show will explore some actual humanity in him.

"He's such a good actor, John Carroll Lynch. He can do anything, and you'll find in Episode 4 that there is a human side to the clown," Wittrock teased. "We will learn his backstory, and we'll actually see a sort of humanity in him. That won't cease to make him the scariest character on television, but I think you'll understand how he got that way."
