While she filmed a short part that was eventually cut, it hasn't deterred Shailene Woodley's interest as the actress recently said that she would be down to do a Marvel movie, but does that mean a return of her as Mary Jane Watson?

Is 'The Amazing Spider-Man 3' Even Going To Happen?

In an interview on Wednesday with Reuters, Woodley talked about her interest in Marvel and what makes those movies so much fun.

"I would love to be part of the Marvel world, I personally love Marvel movies. Honestly, I think they're all just so fun," she said.

"I haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy yet and I'm so excited to see it. But they just take you somewhere and it's an escape. And I love that. That's part of why we love movies."

With Marvel possibly getting Spider-Man back sometime soon, could this mean Woodley could come back as Mary Jane Watson in the new universe that they will create? It seems like she would be down for it, but the talented actress could also take on a larger more heroic role as well.

She has shown with the Divergent series that she is capable of leading a franchise, which is something Marvel may look at in the future as they try and diversify their line-up and add some more female superheroes to the white male party that it currently is.

For now, it seems like Woodley is fine finishing up the Divergent series, which wraps up in 2017 and continuing to work on the indie scene in films like her most recent, White Bird in a Blizzard.
