Although she came up short on her quest for Olympic gold in London at the 2012 Games via a defeat to tennis star Serena Williams, the easy on the eyes tennis pro Maria Sharapova has indeed remained victorious in the game of true love.

Sharapova is currently engaged to Slovenian basketball player Sasha Vujacic. It is reported that the sports couple began dating in 2009. False rumors had recently come across the airwaves in July that the pair would be tying the knot in Istanbul, Turkey this upcoming November.

The National Turk had previously reported that they would "marry under an Istanbul sky with beautiful Bosporus in sight on 10th November."

After she was defeated by Serena Williams, Sharapova had the following to say regarding the wedding bells buzz that has recently circulated, according to RIA Novosti:

"Those are false rumors, always have been," she stated.

When the Russian beauty was queried further on whether or not there would be a wedding in Istanbul she replied with a:  "Definitely not."

In the past, Sharapova had voiced her opinion to have a "quiet intimate and small" wedding ceremony, according to reports published by the previously mentioned online Turkish news site.

The 25 year-old tennis sensation and the international basketball player Sasha Vujacic had become engaged in October of 2010.  Vujacic had previously played for the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets in the NBA before joining the Anadolu Efes in the Turkish Basketball League.
