Hart Of Dixie stars Wilson Bethel and Scott Porter have clarified rumors he sparked via Twitter that the series is headed for cancellation after its upcoming fourth season.

Bethel, who plays boy toy Wade Kinsella spoke with Yahoo! TV Friday in attempt to set the record straight.

"There seemed to be indications that maybe potentially this could be the last season... Storywise, it started to kind of feel in that way," he tells Yahoo TV. "In terms of some of the hullaballoo around certain tweets that were sent, it was basically preparing for that possibility."

Bethel referred to a tweet he posted earlier this month that reads, "Thank you, Wade Kinsella, for these four wonderful years. It's been a mighty pleasure knowing you."

While countless fans will most likely be devastated if the popular show does actually come to an end after this season, Bethel has found a silver lining and seems to be looking at the positive aspect of a possible cancellation.

"If, in fact, this is the final season of Hart of Dixie, the show is left in a really good place...

"It's really satisfying and I think that's part of the reason the cast were feeling like this could be the end. It was just like, oh my god, if this is over, then I'm saying goodbye to this friend of mine, this guy who I really adore."

With the show only featuring 10 new episodes this season, that seemed like another indicator that it was ending.

Still, Bethel's costar Scott Porter, who plays Bluebell's beloved lawyer George Tucker, made it clear that they have gotten no word of the show being cancelled. But he added that it is all up to the fans if these how returns for Season 5.

"I would love to come back and be a part of Bluebell again - and there's a chance - but we really need the support of the fans to be able to come back," urges Porter. "If people don't watch, then shows don't come back, so we just need a little help."

Fans will have their chance to support when Hart Of Dixie returns to The CW in early 2015.
