While Marvel made some big waves with a lot of their other movies, including a firm date for the Doctor Strange movie, the studio did not announce who would play the role as the question is now raised, who will play the role and when will we see him?

Marvel Making A Big Reveal Today In Secret Event?

Benedict Cumberbatch seems to be close to signing the dotted line and joining the Marvel universe as Doctor Strange soon, but when could we see the actor in costume and meeting up with other members of the group soon? Probably in the next movie.

It was speculated that Black Panther would be a possible reveal during Avengers 2, but with the news Tuesday that Chadwick Boseman would play the hero and he would first appear in Captain America 3, that kind of dispels that thought. But what about revealing Doctor Strange, who is set to appear in late 2016?

5 Reasons Why Marvel Knocked It Out Of The Park With Their 'Doctor Strange' Casting

While his name has been hinted at already, it would seem likely that Marvel would bring out their next big hero some time soon and since they didn't have Cumberbatch at the event yesterday, it seems likely that they could wait and show off their latest star at the end of Avengers 2 with the actor appearing in costume.

He wouldn't be a part of the new team of Avengers that have been hinted at, but what about during the post-credit scene?

Picture this: Nick Fury is discussing something with his science team, maybe Bruce Banner or Tony Stark, and a piercing voice comes out from the shadows. Out walks Cumberbatch as Steven Strange and the crowd goes wild.

Doctor Strange is set to open in theaters on Nov. 6, 2016.
