Sony continues to try and find a way to break into the cinematic universe market with their Spider-Man property and right now, no one is biting. But could their latest idea be the one that gets everyone excited?

Marvel Head Addresses Spider-Man Rumors, Is The Hero Coming To Marvel Soon?

Badass Digest reported on Thursday that Sony is planning an all-female team, called The Glass Ceiling, for a possible film. The movie would be in the slot that was set aside for a female-led superhero in 2017.

The Glass Ceiling includes The Black Cat, Silver Sable, Spider-Girl and Silk with other possible characters including Spider-Woman and Firestar.

Marvel Grabbing Spider-Man To Put In Their Netflix Line-Up?

According to the site, this is just one of the many ideas that Sony is kicking around to try and jumpstart both their planned universe and Spider-Man franchise, which are both dying. But it also seems like a re-hash of an already planned movie of theirs, Sinister Six, which teams up Spider-Man villains.

With rumors that Marvel is trying to get Spidey back circulating all over, this is probably another attempt by Sony to try and justify not wanting to give the studio back their prized superhero. While it would be great to have more female superhero movies, with the track record that Sony has recently, it may not be the movie that could be a game-changer.

It also puts into question whether they could find a role for Emma Stone in it, as she has shown an interest in staying within the franchise, and could be slid in as Spider-Gwen.
