With filming now wrapped for the third season of Netflix's Orange Is the New Black, author Piper Kerman gave a brief teaser for what fans can expect when it premieres in mid-2015.

Kerman, who wrote the Orange Is the New Black memoir on which the TV show is based, spoke with Mashable recently about season 3.

"Season 3 is a lot of big departures from storylines," Kerman teased. "I'm excited about it. It's great stuff. We just finished wrapping principal photography."

It is not clear what type of departures Kerman is referring to, but if she is talking about departing characters, it is possible that Larry (Jason Biggs) won't be much of a focus anymore.

While the series has obviously taken several departures from Kerman's memoir, it is possible that series creator Jenji Kohan and company are going even further from Kerman's story. Kohan previously revealed that the third season would be about "faith."

Orange Is the New Black features a huge ensemble cast, but Kerman singled out two people as the most entertaining to be around on set.

"Lea DeLaria [who plays Big Boo] a seasoned entertainer," Kerman said when asked who is the best storyteller on set. "Matt McGorry [John Bennett] very quick and funny. There are a lot of them, however, but those are the two."

Orange Is the New Black will begin streaming season 3 in mid-2015, with the first two seasons currently streaming in full on Netflix.
