On Monday, BDlive reported that John Carlin, the author of Chase Your Shadow said, Pistorius is a kind and generous person "and almost Mandela-like with his old-world manners. I've seldom come across a more courteous person in my life. Yet he is subject to the most disproportionate rages."

Carlin's book depicts the rise and fall of Pistorius who was sentenced to five years in prison in October. He said, "I wanted to capture the mood of the times here now and reflect on the past rainbow nation years of Nelson Mandela."

He added, "Mandela offered a mirror of the extraordinary times during which he led SA into democracy. Now it's a lot more complicated than it was back then. Just as Pistorius has proved to be."

Carlin believes the Olympian can be shown in good and bad light based on the evidence chosen. The digital publication further reported that Carlin's book is nearly 400 pages long and it takes readers throughout Pistorius' life; birth to jail.

Carlin believes Pistorius' trial verdict is his greatest victory yet since he said, "Never mind any gold medals. He won his toughest race."

The book is available through Amazon and other book retailers in the United States.
