After making comments that seemed like he was trashing the massive superhero studio, it seems like Idris Elba is retracting what he said and was unsure how people thought that he hated Marvel.

Idris Elba Could Be Tired Of Being In Marvel, May Want To Move To This Other Superhero

In an interview with The Daily Beast on Saturday, Elba talked about the whole ordeal and said that he was unsure of where people got that he hated working with Marvel from the comments that he made.

"I don't know where people got that, man. I was quite specifically talking about the comparison between playing Heimdall on one day, and playing Mandela on the next. That's sloppy journalism, or just really bad misquoting," he said.

Is 'Thor 3' Set To Become Marvel Phase 3's 'Winter Soldier?'

"I have a great relationship with the Marvel team, and the character of Heimdall. People are really running with this thing like, 'Oh my God, he doesn't want to be with Marvel anymore.' People thinking that comparing those roles means I don't want to be with Marvel, well, that's crazy."

The comments that he was referring to were from an interview that he did where he discussed the torture of having to go from the set of Thor: The Dark World to Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom and the changes he went through for those roles. He also angered Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon by revealing that he and Tom Hiddleston would appear in that movie.

While it seems like Elba is backtracking his comments, who knows what Marvel thinks of the situation. Regardless, his time there could be coming to a close soon with his character being rumored to die during the events of Ragnarok in the third movie.
