Former MTV Reality Star Diem Brown Dies From Cancer At 32

A month after the reality star's tragic death, Mallory co-wrote a song, "Beautiful Girls," which he dedicated to Brown, whom he starred alongside on MTV's The Challenge: The Duel 2.

"She and I grew up just a few miles away from each other in bordering towns in Georgia, so we hit it off pretty fast," Mallory revealed to PEOPLE Magazine on Tuesday.

Chris 'CT' Tamburello Reportedly Proposed To Diem Brown Before She Died

Brown died on Nov. 14, following a third cancer diagnosis. In August, while filming the latest installment of the MTV reality series, Brown was told she was suffering from colon and stomach cancer. In the months that followed, the cancer spread to her liver and lymph nodes. Although Brown underwent several procedures in hopes of beating the disease, the cancer was moving quicker than doctors could operate.

Brown was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 23, and again in 2012. Both times, she beat the disease and remained positive about her future.

Speaking to PEOPLE Magazine, Brown's sister, Megan, revealed what Brown would want to be remembered for.

"Not for cancer," Megan told the magazine. "Then cancer wins. My sister was so much more than this disease. Please remember her infectious smile, positive attitude, her hair flips."
