With Benedict Cumberbatch locked into the main role, there are a host of other characters in Doctor Strange that need casting. Could Morgan Freeman take one of those role for Marvel?

Doctor Strange Could Be Coming To 'Captain America 3' To Team-Up With This Hero

Latino Review reported on Friday that Freeman, Bill Nighy and Ken Watanabe are being considered for the role of the Ancient One in the movie. The site adds that it is unclear how large of a role it will be since the character is a mentor to Doctor Strange and the movie is not expected to be an origin story.

Freeman is no stranger to superhero movies as the actor has become most known for his recent work in The Dark Knight trilogy with Christopher Nolan. With this role, it would work as a similar size role as his one in the previous franchise, and would allow the actor to join one of the best working brands in Hollywood right now.

Nighy is also familiar with big budget blockbusters with the British actor working on the Underworld franchise. Watanabe was in Christopher Nolan's Inception and most recently starred in this summer's Godzilla.

Cumberbatch is right now the only confirmed cast member, but rumors have said that Daniel Brühl could also play a large role in the movie. Bruhl was just cast in an undisclosed role in Captain America: Civil War.

It is also rumored that the recently announced re-shoots on Avengers: Age of Ultron could include Cumberbatch in his first outing in the role as part of a small scene or post-credit tease.

Doctor Strange is directed by Scott Derrickson and is expected to hit theaters on Nov. 6, 2016.
