Grossman was awarded one of the top 10 breakout stars of 2014 by IMDb, coming in at no. 5 overall. The list was complied from the site's STARmeter, which compiles page views for actors. The actress tweeted her award on Friday:

"CRYSTAL HARD PROOF! Thank you, @IMDb @AHSFX @MrRPMurphy #Pepper fans everywhere! Couldn't have done this without you!"

The actress made American Horror Story after becoming the first person to portray the same role in two different seasons. Pepper is the first crossover character, with season 2's Asylum featuring her at the Briarcliff asylum and this season's Freak Show showing her as a performer in Elsa's (Jessica Lange) freak show.

Grossman recently spoke with HuffPost Live about portraying the first character to crossover into two seasons.

She admitted it was "the last thing from [her] mind" since she did not think that this was possible. "I knew the rules -- which apparently they broke for me."

As for why she thinks Ryan Murphy and company decided to bring Pepper back for another season, she chalks it up to the character's popularity.

"It's so hard to say, but I think that they saw the popularity of this character, they decided to clone her by creating Salty, my sidekick, and realized how popular she was," Grossman said. "'Let's bring her back. It's a freak show. Perfect place for her.'"

American Horror Story: Freak Show airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
