FX's American Horror Story: Freak Show boasts an all-star cast of movie and TV legends and many of them are content with staying with the horror anthology.

'American Horror Story's Elsa Ready To 'Move To Hollywood' & Leave Freak Show Behind For Good?

Kathy Bates (who plays Ethel), Michael Chiklis (Dell) and Angela Bassett (Desiree) spoke about the series in a new report by The Star. Bates talked what it was like playing a bearded lady in Freak Show.

"I have never felt like a glamour girl," Bates admitted. "I've always sort of felt more of a tomboy type. So it's more fun to play characters that are really different. I've always felt that one should stretch themselves to fit the character and not the other way around."

Will 'American Horror Story's Sarah Paulson's Twins Survive Until End of Season?

Meanwhile, Chiklis thought that the big twist that his strongman character was gay was an interesting development.

"I thought it was great," Chiklis said. "It made him complex and gave him a real struggle, to be closeted and repressed in 1952. That's actor filet."

Bassett wasn't immediately on board with playing a woman with three breasts, though she did recall her decision to have a three-breasted prosthetic rather than using the two she has naturally.

"Why don't we just improve on the whole situation," she recalled, "and you make me three perfectly divine breasts. So we made a trio. Takes about four individuals to make three breasts."

While the three actors have many awards between them, they are happy to stay with American Horror Story in the future if co-creator Ryan Murphy wants them there.

"I don't see why not," Chiklis admitted, who added that he likes the way Murphy "speaks to the unspoken for. He just finds interesting ways to do that. He's all about human frailty, human differences, how we are all unique and challenged. We all have our stories."

While Bates' Ethel was shockingly killed off during episode 8, she is still around as a spirit, haunting her ex-husband Dell and her son Jimmy (Evan Peters). It remains to be seen if she will continue to do so in the last four episodes of the season.

Meanwhile, Dell almost had a brush with death after an attempted suicide during Wednesday night's episode, though Desiree came in at the right time and saved him. These two have a very complicated relationship at this point, so who knows what the future holds for them.

American Horror Story: Freak Show airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
