New details have come out about Superman's (Henry Cavill) role in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, including some potential fan service.

Christian Bale Talks 'Dark Knight Rises' Ending & If It Was All A Dream

Many fans of Superman were not pleased at the end of 2013's Man of Steel as the character murdered General Zod (Michael Shannon), in addition to destroying most of Metropolis. Superman is seen as an honorable superhero who does not kill, so this was seen as a betrayal of the character, to some fans.

Now, new info from Badass Digest is stating that there is a line in the script in which Superman confronts a villain and says, "I won't snap your neck, I'm going to take you to prison," which seems like a pretty direct response to what happened at the end of Man of Steel. However, the report also says that he later threatens to break the villain's back.

Amy Adams Talks Lois Lane-Wonder Woman 'Catfight' Being 'Male Fantasy' for 'Batman v Superman'

Beyond this, the report reveals that the opening of Batman v Superman includes Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) going to Metropolis at the same time as the big Superman vs. Zod fight from the first film.

However, the film apparently focuses on Superman going forward as it "examines the implications of Superman in the real world."

Set a few years after Man of Steel, the film features Clark Kent in a relationship with Lois Lane (Amy Adams) with the former still working for the Daily Planet. While he is tasked with relatively menial stories like covering football games, he is more interested in the emergence of Batman.

The report also notes that this draft of the Chris Terrio-written script was submitted before principal photography, so it is always possible that things were changed during production.

As such, it may be best to take the specifics with a grain of salt but the bare bones will likely remain in tact for the movie.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release in theaters on March 25, 2016.
